SF Miss Ricco King "Vuchoo"

Meet SF Miss Ricco King "Vuchoo"

This is a hard one to write because Vuchoo has been a big part of our operation, but we truly believe she could be better suited for someone else and still has a lot to offer. Vuchoo is an 11-year-old, 15.3-hand Quarter Horse mare that we purchased as a 2-year-old. We have used her extensively on the ranch and she has seen a lot of country and a lot of work. She has been used in the Sandhills, traveled to Texas, and spent countless long days doing just about every aspect of ranch work. She has: Been on long days of cattle drives Doctored bulls, cows, and calves Dragged calves to the branding fire Made late night calving checks Seen rough country and plenty of miles Been ridden extensively on the ranch Vuchoo rides off the leg, neck reins, has a big stop, and is very honest. She is the kind of mare that is willing to give you everything she has and has always been a dependable partner for us. Standing at 15.3 hands, she is a big, beautiful, well-built mare with plenty of bone, a great build, and lots of color. Her papers stand out going back to big horse Blue Valentine. We want to be completely transparent about Vuchoo's history. For the past two years, she has been evaluated by our veterinarian and has had X-rays taken due to intermittent lameness in her front shoulder. She travels better when she is shod. Our veterinarian confirmed no ringbone and has not been able to identify a definitive cause for the days when she travels off. Because of this, she is no longer able to consistently put in a full day of ranch work, which is the reason we have made the difficult decision to offer her for sale. We are not selling her because we believe she has nothing left to give. Quite the opposite, we believe she has plenty of life and ability left, but we feel she deserves a job and situation that better fits what she can comfortably do. After sitting for over a year, we recently pulled Vuchoo from the pasture and rode her around. She went right to work like she had never had a day off. That says a lot about the kind of mare she is. We could see her making an excellent trail companion, pleasure horse, or addition to a breeding program for the right person. She has been examined to breed but we are not set up for that. If you are looking for one to give you big and pretty colts she's your mare! Vuchoo is not being offered as a full-time ranch horse, and we want to be upfront about that. We are looking for someone who will appreciate her and have a job she can succeed at. This mare has given us some great years, and letting her go is not an easy decision. We are simply hoping to find the right home where she can continue to be appreciated for everything she is. 📍 Located in Nebraska
