Chromed Out Johnny

Meet Chromed Out Johnny

Chromed Out Johnny, also known as “Chrome,” is one of those horses where speed will truly never be a concern. He has always had the natural ability, athleticism, and raw talent to be a standout, so channeling that energy has been our top priority. We chose to be patient, allow him to mature, and let him come into his own. He has shown us that we made exactly the right decision. He is currently clocking in the 3D in TX/OK and has also stepped into the 2D as his confidence has continued to grow. Chrome has an abundance of athleticism, heart, and willingness to do his job. He is one of those horses that feels like a freight train but can set a leg and drive himself around a turn. He is smooth to ride, enjoys attention, and is a pleasure to have around. He is broke, very easy to ride at home, and is definitely a “less is more” type of horse. However, when he gets to a show and has some pressure placed on him, he does get on the muscle and can be a lot of horse. He listens and stays in your hands, but is always ready to rock and roll. These are qualities I truly love about him, and I believe they will serve him well in the rodeo pens one day. That being said, I do believe he would be best suited for a more experienced amateur rider. I spend the majority of my time keeping him fit, allowing him to become more comfortable in his own stride, and keeping his shoulder and body free. When it comes to working the pattern, I simply walk it. If I feel there are things that need work, I address them at a walk, occasionally incorporating a trot, while keeping everything nice and relaxed. He is smart, understands his job, and is very literate to what is being asked of him. He will go where you tell him and stays committed to that. He does get regular maintenance throughout the year. Chrome's pedigree is proven. He is by Johnny Reb Jackson and out of Chrome Plated Fame, who has been an absolute standout in the barrel racing industry. From her futurity career to the rodeo career she continues to build, she has proven herself time and time again. Chrome also has two siblings who have been with top trainers and are exceeding all expectations. Although they are by different sires, they further demonstrate that Chrome Plated Fame is not only a winner herself but a proven producer of winners. I truly believe Chrome's best days are still ahead of him. With patience and continued development, he has the potential to become the number one horse in the trailer. He loves to stretch his legs, but he also knows how to set one down and get to work. The best of both worlds! PPE is encouraged at the buyer's expense. A deposit is required to try him. Serious inquiries only. I would absolutely love to keep this colt and continue bringing him along because I truly believe he is just now starting to show all the things I have always known he had in him.
