Bogies Dashin Bug

Meet Bogies Dashin Bug

Bogies Dashin Bug, also known as Chip, is a 7-year-old gelding with a willing mind, plenty of natural ability, and so much room to continue growing. He is the combination of laid-back and easygoing at home while knowing exactly when it is time to go to work and get on the muscle. He is smooth to ride, smart, and enjoys having a job. He is the kind of horse that makes himself easy to have around and genuinely wants to please his person. Chip has found more consistency in the 3D against some very tough competition. He is still developing and gaining confidence, and I truly believe there is more to come from this gelding. His first run at the 377 (without an expo) landed him in the 3D, on the same weekend Kassie Mowry set the new arena record just a few weeks ago. As he has continued to get seasoned and had more opportunities to stretch his legs, he has found another gear and continues to gain confidence in his ability. He has a great handle on the pattern, and one of my favorite things about him is his ability to give you as much as you ask for while still being responsive and willing to come back to you. You can send him down the pen, but when you sit down and ask him to turn, he is there with you. Chip is laid-back, smart, smooth, and trainable. He is the kind you can go long trotting on, trail ride, pony another horse off of, or even teach lessons on. He is incredibly versatile, and I have hauled him to a barrel race and gone on to use him for other things that same evening. When it is time to go show, however, he knows how to wake up and get to work! He can get a little amped when the atmosphere picks up, but he stays willing and wants to do his job. I love his willingness and the try he brings every time you swing a leg over him. Chip is still maturing in the confidence department, and I believe he would thrive with someone confident, consistent, and willing to continue showing him the way. He is not a finished push-button horse, but he has a great foundation, a willing attitude, and the ability to continue progressing with the right person. He would be best suited for an amateur/intermediate rider who appreciates a horse with some personality and is excited about continuing to bring one along. A few things to note: Chip can be herd-bound and can be a little particular about having his back shoes put on. He will let you do it, but patience and consistency are important. He does require maintenance and is currently shod all the way around. He hauls and stalls great and is an easy keeper who eats and drinks well on the road. Chip is one we genuinely enjoy having in the barn, and he is a horse I would love to see go on and continue developing with the right person. He has the mind, willingness, and natural ability to make someone a really fun horse PPE encouraged at buyer's expense. Serious inquiries only.
